Now the situation between America and China could not be more complex. Although the communist party has implemented many liberal economic policies in the Middle Kingdom it has clung onto to power. It seems that as the country grows more prosperous by the year from its solid manufacturing basis that blatantly steals copyrighted ideas the people of China are content with their government. The growing middle class grumble but don’t seem to dare to defy the authorities. More people have cars and foreign holidays and for many that is enough to quell the dream of democracy. Besides, the communist government, much to the chagrin of the West has been manipulating the value of the Yuan to stop inflation and to keep Chinese companies competitive in the world market.
At the same time, America has not made enough of its hegemony. Bush came to power and the World Trade Center was attacked. At this point borrowing by the federal government started escalating. In 2012 the national debt is so large that it seems unfeasible to pay it off. Since 2008 America has been hit by a massive recession to make matters worse. While China is improving the quality of life for its citizens, successive American governments have made the majority of Americans poorer.

The question of if you should keep making money or not may not be as pressing as how will you invest your money so that you will stay above inflation, and thus keep all the money you have saved over the years. The cheapest places to live in the world are also some of the most beautiful and exotic. One has to wonder why millions in the western world want to live in such drab, boring, and expensive locations. Sure, Cleveland is a splendid place to live, but where is the fun? South America is another excellent choice. You can live in Ecuador, for example, for as little as $650 per month, and Costa Rica will cost you no more than $600 per month. Life in these exotic lands can never be called dull and uninteresting. There are few places in the world that equal South America in beauty, adventure, and price.
Let’s not forget Eastern Europe. When considering Europe, stop thinking about London, Paris and Rome. It’s time to think about Latvia, Croatia and Poland. These are some of the best places to live a stimulating and inexpensive life.
